  1. I looked in Dixons and It's a clearance item. They are just getting rid of the last hi-md units in stock.
  2. Seen them on tv news reports quite a few times. The last time was when that ferry went down in B.C. Canada you could see them holding the minidisc with the little mics attached.
  3. Worth looking at Yahoo Japan If you want to get the decks cheaper. http://page12.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p40243745 - Onkyo MD-133 with a starting price of $171 compared to $629 at audiocubes (you also have to factor in shipping & customs and a brokerage percentage If you dont have any contacts in Japan but It would still work out cheaper).

    New Hi MD Model?

On one hand I'm happy that they are still bothering to make a new Hi-MD model but on the other hand from those specs there is nothing exciting to make me want to buy It at the moment.

    New Hi MD Model?

The new model must have USB 2.00 at this stage.
  7. I haven't set any eq settings at all on my NH1. I can only compare to my other mp3 EU crippled players and there was a significant increase in volume when flashing a USA firmware to 'hack' the volume.
  8. I switched the region to USA/Australian 01 and played the same track again at vol 30 and there was no audiable difference whatsoever. I wasn't expecting It to work as the original volume 30 was loud enough as It was.
  9. I just got a NH1 in the UK and the volume clearly gets louder after 24 so I'm not sure there is any EU volume limiter. My version is shown as 1.100 and is XXXS81.
  10. Just purchased a NH1 from Argos today in the UK for £100. They also have NH800 for £75, looks like they are clearing out the stock. Thought I would mention It as I rarely see the NH1's for sale in the shops and the Sony Store still have silly prices on the mini discs here.
  11. Thats a simple yet effective set-up. Do you pick up a lot more of the crowd cheering/clapping/talking with the mics placed that low? And do you really need to hide the minidisc player when entering concerts as It's just a 'mp3' player to the security guys? Thanks for taking the time to photograph your set-up.
  12. I would like to have a go at making my own mini binaural stealth microphones but I can't see where to get the clips that attach them to a baseball cap. Does anyone know where to purchase them online or know any other type of clip to make a good diy version?
