  1. That is a very good price yes. I paid some 10 times that a couple of years ago and it didn't have the included lead either! I'm sure you will be pleased with it though. Cheers
  2. I'd say A440's reply is just about spot on. I have this mic and for outside/live ambient recording it's superb. I use a little extension lead to avoid the MD's internal motor noise which can be picked up when plugged directly into the MD. I've found it to be extremely good at voice recording, but if the location is noisy it does pick up all that too. (if that matters)
  3. Since posting i have ordered a Windjammer for the mic after talking to the ppl at Roycote, so with luck a solution may be on the way.. Roycote
  4. Hi guys.. Can anyone help with something that's been bugging for a long time. I use a Sony ECM-DS70P mic with both of my MD's for ambient and live recordings. The Mic is fantastic and i've always been amazed at the quality and detail of the sound from it. I do have one problem though, the wind guards for it have got worn out, and are hopeless in even a slight breeze. I've tried other things but none seem to be efficient in reducing the wind noise. I'm looking for a good replacement for this mic. Any suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks Steve.
  5. Hey thanks. I kinda thought that would be answer somehow, but just didn't know the technical aspects of phantom power and plug in power, even though one's instinct suggests that something 4 times the voltage is not exactly healthy!! Guess i'd better start saving for a new mic then, for the Tascam i mean.. Cheers Steve.
  6. Hello guys.. I have a question about the Sony ECM-DS70P mic and 'Plug in Power'. It may seem like a stupid point but bear with me .. As i understand it Plug in Power is varies from 1.5v to 10v, but can anyone tell me if this mic was used in a Phantom Power connection, ie 48v, would it work or simply blow it up!! I normally use it with the MZ NH900 for field work but wondered if i could adapt it for my bigger Tascam unit. Thanks Steve.
