Yeah. So when I try to upload something I recorded the other day it says "an internal error has occurred" and then nothing. it plays fine on the player itself so I could just upload old school through line in real-time or whatever but I was wondering of theres anyway to fix this problem. thanksss.

MD player really f***ed up on me today. Badly.

another way to combine tracks is to take the converted wavs into foobar2000 and highlight them, right click, convert, convert to single file, wav. it doesn't take as long as in SS and theres a status bar that show you when it'll be done. -
cool. thanks for the tips.

yeah, I know how to do it and all but all the presets increase bass and I don't really know where to put the dots to make it sound the best. I guess I'll just experiment and see if I can figure it out.

I recorded a show yesterday and the bass is kind of intense. it would definately sound a lot better if it got turned down but I'm not sure what the best way to do this is. here's a sample of the worst part [attachmentid=1993] I'm basically asking for a picture like this for me to copy, but a lot better to optimize the quality. [attachmentid=1994] bassysample.mp3

i always tap both mics and look at the levels move before recording. nothing really bad has happened to me yet other than once while moshing my mic got unplugged but i felt the battery module hitting my thigh and fixed it a couple seconds later and once it happened and i didn't notice until the middle of the last song so i only got about 20% of the show.

yeah the md player shouldn't be hard to pass off as just your mp3 player. if you think they'll search you, you should crotch the mic to be sure you won't get caught.

Confirmed Third Generation Hi-MD Release Date For USA
bayoubilly replied to Christopher's topic in News
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/...tem/SONY-MZ-RH1 says "Note: The color may vary from picture. Sony has not yet decided if they are shipping Black or Silver to the USA market." so i guess everyone should tell sony we want the black one. -
i have the in-ear mics and they're pretty amazing. if you have longish enough hair to cover your ears there's no way anyone can know you're recording and you don't have to hold a mic or anything. usually i just set the levels low, hit record and enjoy the show like i would if i wasn't even recording. i've even moshed all through a show and managed to get a pretty decent recording with them. oh yeah- and one time i just had them in my pocket cuz i planned on putting them on once i got inside but they were doing searches and i told the security guy they were earphones and of cours i was listening to the player at the time so they probably thought it was an ipod or something.

i'd just record as they are and you can remove the bad channel in audacity and just use the good one. snipping one off completely doesn't sound too good.

I want a high quality versatile mic for recording different types of music (from acoustic to a band). i thinking of spending around 100$. so far i've been thinking about AT2020 AT-PRO24 - i'll brobably get one of these eventually anyway for a high quality portable mic. the only mic i have right now are the in-ear ones. i don't know if the AT2020 is stereo but i want a stereo mic that has a cable that can plug into the recorder. i know some mics have the big plug that i'd need an adapter for or something.

thanks for the input. i'll probably get that mint box one or SP-SPSB1S though since the bass is a real problem, it'd be nice to have that bass roll off thing. now i just have to save up...

okay, i got pretty good results with the attenuator but i'm looking for something better. i've been looking at the reactive "juice box" battery box. is that a good bet, or would it be worth it to get a preamp instead?
-
i just just bought one of these at radioshack. when i was practicing with my stereo turned up really loud, mic sens low, the attenuator on max, i had to turn the gain up to 20/30 to get a good volume, but i don't think it distorted. there are 2 instores today that i will definately record and maybe a concert later tonight! the crucial show i really want a good recording of is on monday, so hopefully i will have had enough expierience with it by then.
