i see, thanks for you reply so basicly i could connect a few microphones to a mixer and then record it all into line-in? thats cool.. though i will mostly use this device for field recordings and as a memory, some drum jammings in the natur and so on i see i asked some questions that have already been answerd here, i must say this seems to be a great forum, lots of knowledgeable people i will read some about the Hi-MD devices.. i know i will want one soon...

yeah i guess, well i have a portastudio, a yamaha aw1600 but i would like a recording device for field recording, i guess i dont need all those featuers that i suggested , but it sure would be fun. Anyway, im still puzzled for what to go for, for field recording.. any recommendations, i mainly want to record to wav using both stereo and mono mics. Dose it work to connect a instrument like a keyboard to line-in and also have a mic connected and record both at ones? cheers!
  3. Hello! I dont know if this is the right place to write such thing but ill take the chance. I have been checking out some sony minidiscs recorders and im very interested. I was wondering when there will be info on the new HI-MD MZ200 minidisc? i read here: http://forums.minidisc.org/lofiversion/index.php/t15369.html that it will come soon. i looked at the Sony Hi-MD MZ-RH1 WALKMAN® and it looks to be a great device, though i would love to see some extended featuers like some Dsp FX, reverb, delay, gate, compression, also it would be cool if it was possible to record with gate and compression on the mic-input and lineinput, and a little sequencer and mixer, so you can make a track idea on the fly, this would be awsome, a fun box that is serious, which you can carry around everywhere. maybe add a little hdd to store samples for faster editing? also connecting a mic and routing the output to a hifi system so you could use the MD recorder as a mic preamp with FX, maybe you already can use as a little preamp and route the output to other sources, but it would be awsome with some FX. would this be possible in the future? i think if they(sony)made such unit that would be both a toy and tool for a musician and hobby or pro recorder, they would sell alot. Still it would be very cool if they just made it possible to mix a couple of tracks on the fly after you recorded them.. the FX would be very sweet as a little reverb can make so much for a preformance., it dosent have to record the reverb, just use it as a send effect to the audio out I just feelt i wanted to share my ideas, What do you think the future holds, and who will make the ultimate recorder with those features that you dream of? any recommendations for a good minidisc recorder would be great, im planning to record some stuff outdoors this summer. both some jamming in the park and lots of other stuff, im very keen on field recording.. Cheers Alex Feel free to move this topic to its right place, as i feel i put it in the wrong place, hehe.
