  1. Why? Is the sound quality really bad? Please elaborate. Thanks
  2. Dear all, hope you guys can help me to decide which DAP i should buy. Currently i ownd D-NE20 PCDP and i really enjoying atrac format.... I plan to give it to my sister and i lure to A1000 series. But today at Sony Center the staff showed me E seres walkman. I just try for a few minutes and i kinda like the song...... It also equipped with FM radio that is a big plus. Which is actually sound better? A seres or E Series? I dont care much about capacity size (actually 1 GB is enough for me), what i care is sound quality through the headset. Please help.....
  3. Thank you for the reply. So, what you're saying is using atrac3+ 256 as archiving is useless unless i really want to use that bitrate for everyday listening? Is that Atarac3+132 or Atrac3 132? Is there any Atrac3+132 kbps? This whole bitrate-conversion-thing confuses me. And i dont have any switch in SS 3 to activate LP mode. I have a slightest idea what LP is (by reading other threads) but i do not really grasp the idea. I assumed now they both just the same (Atrac and LP)? I really need gapless thing. One of my CD - Enigma Voyageur - the track between The Piano and Following The Sun do not cut properly. Most of the time i listen to the first song until the first few-seconds-part of the second song. I need gapless because the end of the first song is actually the first part of the second - they cut it wrongly. Being a fan of a new age song many of the artists like to harmonize gap between tracks. Once you jeopardize with its cut, the music will go overbalance. About MP3 (i listened MP3 song with Lame preset extreme V0), with D-NE20 Atrac definitely sound better. I like the way Sony change the ambience with Atrac compression. It sound 'different' from the original song (at least from my experience with other music player) but somewhat 'better'. Maybe it just me, but to me atrac is just a bit worse than SRS WOW music playing. Dont know how to explain.
  4. Hai all, just a newbie here from PCDP user. Floating around between threads about ATRAC format. I ripped some audio CDs in ATRAC3+ 256 kbps. Due to shrink the file size, i am thinking about transfer it to PCDP to 64 kbps. Is there any noticable difference between A3+256 and A3+64? Which is better, saving the audio to A3+256 as archive and then transfer it to PCDP as A3+64 OR just plain transfer it from audio to A3+64? If later is better, then i think i will waste more harddisk space because i'll double all the titles in each different bitrates. Any suggestion? Thanks
  5. I just dont get it, what are the added features this model give from the third gen? In my country, Indonesia, D-NE20 still the most expensive CD Player. It even sold higher than NE-920. I saw it and touched those directly from local Sony Center, D-NE20 design is the best from all CD players shown there. I am lurking to get D-NE20, but Damage only gives this player 50 marks. What is the difference between D-NE830 and D-NE20? What is the update? Should i get this model or get D-NE20?
  6. The amp is a bit weak, i agree. But i think it has something to do with battery saving feature. Well, afterall it is a phone... When you transfer the song do you use card reader OR with Sony Ericsson built in PC Suite (with the phone attached to PC)? As a long time sony ericsson (and ericsson) user i have to say that they have the worst PC Suite scenarios regarding file transfer speed. The phone connector hardware (called Fast Port) actually support USB 1.1 (some might say USB 2.0) BUT the program came from its PC Suite use a serial emulator when connect to the phone. I dont have hard data to prove this but the file transfer speed still not improving since t68. It has something to do with the program called Mobile Phone Monitor. SE havent heavily upgrade this connection software. Basically it is still the same that T610 use. Comparing other PC Suite, eg Nokia, which truly support USB, the margin is noticeable. So i think, until now, Memory Stick Media have an adequate file transfer speed. If you use card reader (even with USB 1.1) the file transfer still outperform the PC Suite in large margin. If you planning to manage your music file i strongly recommend a card reader to move the files in and out instead replacing your MS.
