The only time I seem to post is to sell something..... In an attempt to raise some funds for a new RH1, I am selling my beloved NH1 by auction. You can find the listing and pictures, etc. here. Player comes with charge stand, AC adaptor, USB cable, headphones, SS 3.3, documentation. In fact, the only things missing are the optical cable and those clips to put around cables. Item is used, but in fantastic condition, with v. v. v. slight marks on front and back, but you have to look really hard to find them. Player has always been used in a case. Lot comes with a Caselogic 12 minidisc wallet case, 10+1 HiMD discs, 8 slimline disc cases. grab a bargain. Cheers. mal.

In case anyone is interested, I am selling the NH1 that I bought as a back-up. I am suitably impressed with the NH1 to believe that my current NH1 will outlast me -- one of us is made from magnesium! Anyway, it is completely unused and has only been taken out of the box to check contents, then lovingly packed up again. I tested it with its battery and it switches on without issue. As I mentioned, I am heading back to HiMD. A few things have pushed me this way: -- cheap MZ-NH1 from Argos [uK] -- want to use player for sport/running; a bit paranoid about using a hard-disk player -- need the cash -- I want to be able to record/edit/delete tracks on the go I also want to get reacquainted with my music collection -- I can "force" myself to listen to a few albums by restricting myself to multiples of 1GB! And when the first 10GB flash player materialises.............! mal.

I am heading back to Hi-MD, and as a result my Sony NW-HD5H [30GB] is up for sale. You will find this item on eBay [auction number 9706444499 if link doesn't work]. The item is in fantastic condition -- no marks, dents, blemishes, cracks.....in fact pretty much as you would buy it new!!! Comes with all orignal accessories, cables, documentation, packaging. In addition, I am including 1 x black silicone skin, 1 x blue silicone skin, 1 x LowePro case, 1 x spare battery [official Sony one]. Thanks for reading. mal.

HD5[H] for me for a few reasons: 1. can use my 40ELK remote 2. can get spare batteries 3. slightly better battery life 4. comes in 30GB variety 5. didn't get on well with OLED display on my e407 outdoors so a little doubtful about A series usage outside. 6. don't have to use Connect player [ ]. mal.

A 3rd party supplier of HD5/H replacement batteries has arisen! Have a look at this post by "Maidenpriest" at AV Forums. Good value compared to the official Sony one -- but no info yet about performance. Mal.

If you have an old handsfree earpiece [obviously not a cordless-bluetooth one!!!] then whip off the clip and use this to carry the weight of headphone cable -- also stops cable from flapping too much!! mal.

The only way I have found is to burn your WMA-DRM album as an audio disc, then re-rip. Not too much of a problem -- and always a good idea to keep a hard copy anyway! mal.

I was in a Dixons store [uK] the other day, and they are selling Proporta silicone cases for Sony E4/5/600 series. Having just looked at the Proporta website and saw this. About time that we started to get a few accessories. mal.

I don't know if this will help to sort out the problem, but consider the following: are you charging via USB 2? THough I don't actually get the ins and outs of it all, I gather USB2 is higher power than USB 1 [in terms of its requirements from your PC]. The E407 has a setting that you can change [under the advanced menu I think] between low and high power charging -- if you have yours on low and use a USB2 port, you *may* not be getting all of the juice that you need. Let me say again that I am only surmising this, and don't have any information to go one other than my own intuition. Others may read this and shoot me down, but, hey, if it helps....... mal.
