  1. last night i left my rh10 recording to fill a new hi-md disc. when i tried to export it, here's what i got: Cannot transfer any more tracks. The memory of the device/media is full. Untitled my C: drive still have 592 mb, and my extraction target drive, G: still have 161 gb should i clear my C drive? avrin, personally, i don't think it's the laser diode. i tried troubleshooting this problem and i splitted my 35 mins of recording (track mark) into 3 segments of 10, 10 and 15 mins. the first segment (track 1 out of 3) and the last segment (track 3 out of 3) exports fine. i'm having access error on the middle segment which leads me to understand that it's a problem with the disc. what's your take on that?
  2. hey avrin. i kinda wished i was in here before i bought my rh10. i guess i was hoping that the rh10 i'm buying would be error free and give me that solid state feeling. alas that was shattered as i still can't upload my recording (recorded a gig today). the rh10 was a second hand unit, but i didn't expect the laser to give me problems. prior to this, i transferred a handful of mp3s and they plays fine. is there any way i can fix this problem for good? because if not, i'm thinking of selling this rh10 and get the rh1 which leads me to the next question: will rh1 have this same problem? much much thanks.
  3. hi guys, i'm having disc access error when trying to transfer my recording to my computer using sonicstage. i'm using RH10 and i've read that it's the laser diode problem. question: can i change the laser strength using service mode? thanks.
  4. I'm at the crossroad between a mz-rh1 or zoom h4. Lots of people I talked to write off the mini disc as soon as you can say "compressed audio" and "near extinction". Now I've been telling them that the MD nowaday records PCM, up to 16/44.1! Also the fact that MD is not going to extinct since Sony is marketing MD now as a field recorder and not personal audio player, but this all goes to deaf ears. Since the fact that the RH1 is very rare in my country (how ironic that the RH1 is made in Malaysia, it's not selling here) I started looking up the Zoom H4. First impressions: Stereo Mic, AA Batteries!, 2 XLR/Hi Z input, SD memory card. Now I want to get a field recorder to record live band performance and maybe some ambience back at my hometown. I have yet to listen to a full band set recording on the H4 (all the recording I heard so far is mainly acoustic instruments - which is not really my thing) but I've heard of a Mogwai concert recorded with the RH10 and the quality impressed me (although the compression is audible - still, can be fixed). By the fact that I have not acquired either the RH1 or the H4, (putting aside your love to mini disc) which recorder would you guys recommend?
  5. I've been looking for this particular model, including calling up local sony dealers around, but they said it's not in stock (they stopped ordering 2 years ago). It's even harder to find a second hand unit. I live in Malaysia, and if there's anyone here (selling mz-rh1 and) would be nice enough to ship to Malaysia, please PM me. Have a nice day.
