  1. Memorex media (all types) are in a class by themselves. I have had way more CDs, MDs, floppies, cassette tapes fail with the Memorex label than all others combined. My experience with Memorex MDs has been abysmal. Any time anyone sends me a Memorex CD, I quickly copy it knowing that it's a matter of time (not long) before it can't be read. I find it truly amazing that their quality is so bad across all media types. For MD, stick with Sony. For CDs, go with Taiyo Yuden (order them in bulk and don't look back).
  2. If anyone is wanting to part with a Sharp MDLP recorder, let me know. I particuarly like the ones that run on one AA battery. Gumstick battery models okay as long as it comes with the AA sidecar attachment. Let me know what you got. Thanks!
  3. Always interested in picking up a reasonably priced Sharp MDLP...preferably those that run solely on a AA, but would be interested in the gumstick powered w/ AA side car attachment. If you've got a good condition one just sitting around, send me an email. U.S Only (put radio in the subject line to avoid spam) k3piATradiointelDOTcom thanks
  4. Have you considered a good digital voice recorder? Very portable. Many of them let you upload the files via USB. After your project, it would make a dandy gadget to stick in your pocket and use it to record reminders to yourself, ideas, etc. Might have longer use to you than MD.
  5. Hi, I am looking for a good condition Sharp MDLP unit for back up purposes. Prefer a model that uses AA battery only but will certainly consider one that uses gumstick and the "side car AA" attachment. Please send email to k3pi AT arrl DOT net (Put the word Radio in the subject line somewhere....thanks)
  6. Have you thought about getting a boom box with a line in / auxillary jack and running portable MD through it. That's what I do. Does the job for me.
  7. I got catalog from All Electronics this week and saw the Sony NH-14WM(A) gumsticks in there for $4.95 each. If interersted, the part number is NMH-1400. Their toll free number is 800-826-5432. Website = www.allelectronics.com Not affiliated with them. Just saw the low price on this battery and thought some may want to know.
  8. I have a Cowon IAudio G3 mp3 player. Pure drag and drop. Also comes with its own software but I have never used it. It is as easy as using a flash drive (which you can use it for as well).
  9. Hi, After a few days of research, I have decided to get the MZ-NH700 and jump into Hi-MD. I am seeing new prices in the $170-$180 range from a few U.S. places. If anyone has recently purchased one for less in the U.S., I would appreciate knowing where. Thanks!
