I have always just used a regular spdif cable and it worked. You need to make sure you plug it into the optical in on the MD player, and not the linein. And ensure there is a red light coming out the end of the cable

Hi, I am thinking of purchasing an RH1. As far as I know, the RH1 will permit transfer of live recordings from old standard MD minidiscs to the PC into .wav format. But, will it permit transfer of recordings made by optical SPDIF cable from a CD. i.e. I had a cd with recordings on it, which I played real time through a stereo with an optical out, and then transferred digitally via an optical cable to a standard minidisc many years ago. Will it allow me to transfer the data to the PC into .wav format? Does anyone know? Thanks
