NEW MEMBER I REGISTERED TO ANSWER THIS Q I use a Bogen Manfroto light stand (i bought it at a photo/ camera store) its aluminum it weighs a couple pounds is 3' long when colapsed will get you 9' up there the tripod is 3' wide is was 50 bux, ther was a taller one that was 70 the post has a 1/4" 20 thread just get a wing nut for it and make somethign to adapt your mounts i'll post a pic when i get to my other computer oh and i use a pair of Rode NT3s they are kinda heavy for mics (battery in the body) and it holds them fairly steddy unless someone kicks the tripod
