I have an idea how to rip ATRAC - to use a program tha will create a virtual cd-r Drive, and to create threw sonicstage an audio cd or mp3 cd. Can some one tell me If it sims to work, and if it does, where can I find a program that will emulate a cd burner (and not a regular cd-rom like they all do?)

Please reply to avil@softhome.net

Well, i'm not sure if this is the info you're after... as it was posted by someone else on another thread... so don't call me clever for finding it out, i'm just stealing someone elses brainwave.

Okay, i'm not really sure what you mean by creating a virtual cd-r drive... but if you use Nero, and select an 'Audio CD' as your project... you can then load it up... and load it up... and overfill it like crazy with mp3s... (i tested this last night, and compiled a 95 track cd)... then i burnt it to my hard disc as a Nero Image file... then mounted the image file, using Nero's 'Imagedrive' - which made it into a virtual CD.

Next I booted up Simple Burner, and it recognised the mounted drive as a regular cd... and just hit the Transfer button.

I haven't found a way of keeping the track titles etc on there... I tried asking Nero to burn CDText, but that didn't seem to make any diff... still, tis a sight quicker than SS.

I intend to use it for many tracks - I intend to record lectures, and to upload them to my computer. Do you know about a program that emulates a cd-rrw?

Search for a program called Alcohol 52%. It's fantastic and works great. I use it so that I don't always have to have the disk with me when I play a game.

Avil, I think the problem will be getting SS to recognize the emulator as a CDR. I didn't Alcohol could do this so you might try it, but I think alcohol and nero will only creat a virtual cd for which you can create an image from within alcohol or nero, not actually a cdr emulator.
