I'm considering getting an extra AC adapter for my NH900 so I can charge on the road or plug in my portable while I'm at work listening to a MD. My unit uses a 3V adaptor. Would I be safe with getting a generic charger that you find at places like Radio Shack or Best Buy or should I get an official Sony charger like the one found at Mindisco http://www.minidisco.com/ac-e30a.html ?

out of curiocity, you aren't able to simultaneously use and charge the HiMD are you? Like im talking Rechargeable AA kinds (600,700,800)

When it is charging it says 'Charging' on the display.

It doesn't say it when the machine is in use so I assume it is not charing

when it is being used to play back tracks.

That might not be enough current to run a Hi-MD properly and recharge the batteries. You should really use an adapter rated no lower than 1A to be sure.

I was feeling game this morning, and just tried out my 500mA adapter anyway. I didn't try running the recorder, just charging it, and it went from 1 notch to full in just an hour. Seems to work fine biggrin.gif
