aeriyn
^ wav's not pure enough, eh?Lossless is the same as PCM, but smaller so more would fit on the disc. AAC is superior to MP3; I'd be happy with 256kbps AACs.
atrain
i do realise that. pcm is drm wav & there is 256 atrac3+ aac is all very well on an ipod, but then i'm not one to argue - i do most of my recording in lp2 that is to say, i don't have a leg to stand on, morally. dex Otaku
I had no idea that choosing an audio CODEC was a moral issue. Interesting. Does that make mp2 lovers immoral heathens?

atrain
sorry, all i meant is i can pick SP from LP2 & LP4 but the sound quality isn't as important to me as to others. respect to you if you care about quality, i don't care so much
fuz
If Sony would include a lossless codec support for Hi-MD, I'd be game. :laugh:I'm hoping to someday work out enough of the DRM/HiMD formatting to be able to patch in raw PCM data.. mm.. 1 gig discs of raw goodies playable on the unit My holdover plan however is to use HiSP for something i can listen to while out and about but also to have a full blown CD image on the rest of the 1 gig disc so when i get to a PC i can listen (or process) to that directly. Not having 1 gig discs however has been a bit of an impediment to this.. :rasp:
