hi-MD format still ONLY portable devices?

Now that I have entered the MD world w/ my hi-MD player, I'm looking at other units (shelf systems, car stereos), yet if I'm not mistaken, they would not play ANY of my MDs (even the 80min ones) because I output my Sonic Stage stuff in "hi-MD" format.

If what I just said is true, is there ANY other unit that could play hi-MD formatted (or netMD - in case I got the terms wrong) (it doesn't even have to play the 1GIG discs) other than the 'walmkan' portables???

Thanks

Actually, January is a good time. Sony announced Hi-MD at the CES show last year. Granted, the units weren't available until later. However, I would speculate that they would announce any major new units and/or unit changes at that time. The CES show is within the first two weeks of 2005.
