Idea for the RM-MC37LT (need help)

I recently bought at a second hand store a lcd remote control with an fm tuner with the model number:RM-MC37LT.

I use the MZ-N505 and the remote is semi compatible when the two plastic grooves are filed down but two pins are not used.

Since the tuner and the screen is not running when it is plugged in, i am guessing that the two not used pins deliver power to the remote.

Is there a way to install an external power supply so the lcd screen and tuner works?

I need to know because it can't be returned in two days and (cough) it cost $40.

I will see if i can.

But i have a feeling that they will not want it back because i filed the grooves down.

I do know that the remote works on my player but the screen will not run and the audio plug was designed differently.

I will try to see if i can find a different plug from sony that they will send me. I am pretty good at soldering but i still don't knowifthe screen will work.

Thhe remote input on my player has 4 connectors. The remote plug has 6.

Two connectors do not toutch the contacts so they must be for delivering power to the unit, or something else.

I hope this works.

Note: i use the sony MZ-N505 player/recorder
