happs01
I have read Dex's tutorial (1.1) on how to transfer recorded audio. Open Sonic transfer window, open audio editor (Pyro), plug in MD USB. When I do this, I hit play in the transfer side, it starts the counter on both the software and the MD (MD > PC mode) it seems that the MD communicates OK with the software, but I get absolutely NO SOUND through the headphone jack on my ONBOARD sound card. NO SIGNAL THROUGH RECORDING SOFTWARE. I know everything is set up correctly for sound because I can play MP3s and WAVs from my Harddrive with no problems. I also try it through my firewire interface (Firewire Audiophile) and get no signal through the drivers and no sound through that headphone jack either. Again, if I play an MP3 or WAV or game or whatever from the harddrive, it works fine. Thanks happs01
Christopher
What MD unit are you using?

happs01
The suggested link completely defeats the purpose of my query. I do not want analog transfers. Why would Dex's tutorial work on some MDs but not others? Any suggestions? Should I contact Sony directly? happs01
mrsoul
If you DO NOT have a Hi-MD, then you CANNOT play through Sonic Stage, NET MD only play through the headphone/line out when connected to Sonic Stage. Sorry but true. To get digital transfer, get a MD deck with optical out and a soundcard with optical in. Otherwise, there are analog to USB coverters but that again is not what you want. The only way to get digital out of your Net MD is to use a MD deck with optical out. That is why I owned a MD deck before I got my Hi-MD.
