ayekeramba
i plan on getting the mznh600D hi-md player (my regular MD got ganked) i've a few items i need confirmation on. 1. SS is the ONLY way to get media onto your himd player. - yes, from what ive read. 2. When SS encodes into Atrac3, it doesnt sound as good as its mp3 equivalent. (i never noticed a difference, but whatever). - Not sure 3. Atrac3 encoding is capable of better quality. - not sure 4. If 1 was not true then someone could release a 3rd party piece of software that uses an improved Atrac3 codec that sounds better without using much more space. i dont suppose i really care all that much, but if there is 3rd party software, id much prefer it. corporations seem to make software FUBAR. Christopher
Welcome to the forums. :welcome: 1. You can also use Simple Burner. It's a very handy utility for CD rips and the like. 2. This is different for everyone. You can always download Sonicstage 2.3 from connect.com and make some Hi-SP/etc songs. 3. Compared to what? 4. Doubt it. To be honest, Sonicstage 2.3 isn't really that bad. I haven't had any crashes, it takes little time to transfer songs and things seem pretty smooth. Skradgee
Yaaaaay! My first post. I just got an MZ-MH1 a couple weeks ago. I've had MD players before but never had to deal with Sonicstage. SS is...alright. Would I rather not re-encode all my files? Sure, but what'cha gonna do...record everything in realtime? That's no fun. Anyway, my overall experience with the new generation of MD players has been 95% positive (just a couple Sonicstage crashes here and there). I'm sure a lot of improvements have been made to the software since it first came out, and I'd like to think that it could only get better. Hooray for the forums @ minidisc.org!
