ROMBUSTERS
Hey I have a question. I'd like to record my LPs by running the turntable through my AMP and then to my MD. I currently have the Left/Right (white/red) wires going out into a stereomini plug which is then plugged into my mic jack. Is a steromini cable the same as a mic input cable or not? atrain
try using line in rather than mic instereo mini = 3.5 mm or 1/8 inch jack=|=|==>looks like this right? if it has one line it's mono
ROMBUSTERS
ya its a serteomini and yes for some reason, in a fit of lunacy, i thought the line in was digital only. Anywho works great now, except when Mr. Volume control makes it all sound the same. Meh guess ill be trying manual next.BTW if I'm going from something like my CD player to my MD what recording level do you find good? Should I put the CD player on full/half volume? Should I use Loud Music recording option, etc? Edited January 5, 2005 by ROMBUSTERS
atrain
tbh if it's from a cd player i'd use the optical option or via the PC. likewise when i record a vinyl record my chain i sthusturntable -> preamp[mixer] -> pc using soundforge 7.0 [coverted to wav & tagged] -> sonicstage to md -> [back up] wav burned to cdyou could also use GNUfreeware like audacity. this gives you the option of cleaning up scratches & pops if you like & normalising
