Bananatree
You can only upload a analog recording once, then you can convert it to WAV and copy it as much as you want.As a dj, I can see the Hi-MD recorder being a good choice, as you could capture all of your sets at a reasonalbly high bitrate. dex Otaku
See also here:http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7486This is a review of the NH700. The only real differences between the 700 and 800 are:* the 800 has the VPT acoustic engine [which works poorly by all reports I've seen]* the 800 comes with a radio tuner remote
ROMBUSTERS
i currently have the 700 and its greatthe sound engine and FM tuner you pay extra for arent worth it in my opinion. Especially the FM tuner, its in the remote cord so you have to hold it in awkward positions to get better signal, etc
Black_Shoulder
I am using a MZ-NHF800, and I actually am doing something for a youth group on radio. That was my reason for buying the unit.I don't know about your radio stations, but the one I go to uses regular MD discs to record sounds. I can use my NHF800 to record the sound (a mic needs to be bought) on a regular MD disc, and they can play on the units at the radio station, but the reverse cannot be done easily. The tracks I have recorded from the station, when taken back to my Hi-MD unit, can be played all right. But if I want to record it onto my PC, then there is a tonne of problems. I eventually got that resolved (with the help of the excellent advisors here), but the sound quality is not the greatest.
dex Otaku
MD replaced cart tape throughout most of the broadcast industry in Canada in the early-to-mid 1990s. Perhaps the situation was the same where you are, Black_Shoulder.The problem you ran into is what should probably be #1 on the MD and HiMD FAQs, before everything else:You can NOT upload from MD via USB. Period. You -can- do analogue copies straight from the headphone out of your 800, and unless you r sound card is shite, the quality should not suffer at all, really.
