If we're looking at the front, looks like they made the same mistake Creative did w/ the 1st generation case for the Zen - namely, no window - have to take it out of the case to use it.

Not if you had the remote for basic functions or have caught the iPod Shuffle disease.

Not if you had the remote for basic functions or have caught the iPod Shuffle disease.

What I should have said was - have to take it out of the case to see the screen - track info, etc. etc. The Zen of course does not have cool remotes like Sony devices... though it looks like the remotes for these new HDDs do not have LCDs.

mmp64,

You are right the new remote looks very minimalistic with no display perhaps some existing MD LED remotes will work with the new HDDs as the socket appears similar.

Maybe Sony will bring out some higher featured remotes later and hopefully one with an OLED display.

you know, if sony had been smart enough to make the rm-mc40elk, then i might have just bougnt one for the sake of having it. But with all the bull about connect not working for so many people, and a remote that might as well not even be there unless you have it on shuffle 'every track' all the time, i wouldnt reccomend the a100/3000. I had told me sister to get one of these before the 'niggles'.
