Hello everybody!

I've just discovered this great community and I've just understood that I have sooooooooo much to learn about MD! smile.gif

I'm going to purchase my first MD portable, and I have the chance to choose between one of these.

The primary use will be listening, and some occasional recording. Radio is welcome, too.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, and sorry for my english! smile.gif

Thanks for yor answers.

Kurisu's suggestion ofthe NH600D would be fine if you will always copy music to MD from your PC.

Yes, it will be the primary use, let's say 95% of the time. Also the USB mass storage thing is very attractive..

Since you mentioned that you'd record from time to time, I need to ask you what source you'd be recording from. Will it be a microphone, stereo, or something else?

I don't really know, I think it'll be from an analogue source, not a microphone. But the 600D doesn't have neither analog nor digital, anyway, so it shouldn't really matter...

If the audio quality of the HiMD is far superior, I think I'll go with that...

The NetMD players are nearly obsolete. Hi-MD has more storage and better sound.

Spend a little more $$ and get a Hi-MD that records, like the NH-700. The 600D really ties you to your computer--you can't move tracks around on the MD, you can't do any recording, it doesn't even have an AC adapater plug.

For a passive music player, you might well be better off with an iPod.

The only advantages of the 600D over an Ipod are the removable/replaceable battery, the removable storage (MDs, not a HDD) and the price--you can find the NH-600D for under $100 on eBay. But the iPod is a lot more compact and user-friendly.

I know, but the difference in price isn't that low.. I couldn't find a NH-700 (or a non-D 600) without paying almost twice the 600D. And I'm a poor student smile.gif

I don't like HDD players at all.. don't ask me why, I really don't know smile.gif

As if they are saying "No! Don't buy me!" to me all the time wink.gif

Which is exactly what I was looking for, after all. Why 'was'? Because a 600D is flying towards me, in its packet. 72 EUR W/ shipping & handling. Not so bad, if you consider that here in Italy it costs almost three times that price!!! biggrin.gif

Stay tuned: an update will follow as soon as I'll lay my hands on it. smile.gif

Hey, can I ask you where you got such good price? As I understand you got the non-recording model.
