lorus77
Hey all.I saw some pretty good deals on the net for 1st gen Hi-MD 600D model. From what I have gathered, the only major differences in the 2nd gen Hi-MD are: faster transfer speed, ability to play mp3's, and ability to use MD player as an external drive. In my opinion 1st and 2nd are certainly will be not worth a price that of an iPod. And 3rd... The gadget graveyard is filled with devices that tried to be too versitile (the PDA market is actually shrinking).Any opinions?Eugene. Fast Eddie
If you don't need MP3 support then take advantage of the first gen cheaper prices.
Guest tony wong
ability to use MD player as an external drive.←I do think(but not sure) all Hi-MD unit available should have this functionwell, I checked the price on Sony few days ago, 600D's official price should be $199....well........personally I don't think in less than a year's time, the price will drop to its halfI just wonder where those 600D appeared to be $100 come fromfor 2nd gen models : if u r not ergently needing a portable player, I do think u should waitand there is fourth difference : longer playback time
