Leland
At BIC camera today in Shibuya (Tokyo, Japan), they were dumping inventory of Sony NW-HD1's and NW-HD2's for 22,000 yen. Not a bad deal, 20 gig, 30 hr HDD player for about 200 US.
Christopher
What're the other various popular hard drive players priced at there?
Leland
I didn't do a comparison as I'm not really in the market. The new Ipod 60 gig photo was about 50,000 yen, so about 50 USD more than the US price. There was a huge display of may different HDD players. Special display for the Creative Zen micro. The Sony HD3 was in the mid to high 30,000 range.
aeriyn
Compuplus was selling the Rio Karma for $175.I played with an NW-HD1 at Tweeter the other day when I went to get some MX500s to tide me over till I can buy EM3s...I gotta hand it to Sony, if there's one thing they can do and do well it's make stuff SMALL. The thing is just a teeny bit bigger than my mini, and it certainly has style... a sophisticated industrial styling. I still prefer the looks of my mini, but I could see myself with an NW-HDx player if the amp was a bit stronger. Don't mock me about that, I'm used to Rio/iRiver/Apple/Creative and their >15mW amps.
