peare
I am MAD! Going berserk! Tonight I was at a beautiful concert, and made my first recording with my NH1. Everything went well, and on my return I noticed 3 groups were created but there were nothing in the 3d group. I hadnt used track marks at the 1st part of the concert, so I tried to put a track mark while I was listening to the beautiful music. I had made a PCM recording on a 1gig MD. Track mark is created, then suddenly I noticed a sudden activity, the red lighy went berserk as I am now, and I read the message, somethin like error creating file, and everything disapeared. After the concert the remainig space was 8MB, now it is 864MB free space. There is a bug with Sony Hi-MD, and I dont know what, but my recording has just been evaporated. Is this just a downloder, or a recorder. Shame on you Sony! Now I understand why Sharp was so cautious in going into Hi-MD business. Now Sony will go into 2d generation. Just learn to produce decent equipment. I will never buy a 1st generation from Sony anymore.
MDGB2
Recording live concerts is naughty and usually violates copyright - BAD! On a serious note, thats a bit of a bugger that your recording got trashed. I've always regarded MD as a nearly bullet-proof format for recording, be a swine if Hi-MD doesn't maintain this durability. peare
i think they are learning with the software guys...(←It appears that the MD was defective... but not when I used it today for the first time.... or NH1 caused something... I dont know, but I think I was happier with NetMD. My old N1 never caused any problem. I recorded my lectures with it, made interviews, etc... I will be very uneasy in using this one from now on. imkidd57
Has this behaviour got anything to do with the battery power running out whilst editing?
Guest NRen2k5
Or the MD unit being jarred or shaken?
