jadyn
Hey,I have a problem with my MZNH600D Mini Disc player. The message reads. Format Error Disc.I was filling up my mini disc player with some songs when it started making weird noises, then in sonic stage it said something about that one of the files could not be put on. More weird noises then I look on the mini disc player and there is nothing. No songs. And just the message Format Error Disc. Every once in a while it will ask if i would like to format. I say yes. Nothing happens. Sonic Stage doesnt acknowledge the player when i plug in... I don't know what to do. Get a new disc? Somehow reformat it?help!thanks. ROMBUSTERS
what happened what the table of contents failed to write to the disc. This not only causes it too appear as though there are no songs but also for the player to give you a format error (it thinks its formatted wrong because there is no TOC for it to see). The only way that i personally can think to fix this is to go ahead and give her the old format. If this problem occurs again with this disc only then it is the discs problem, however if your other discs start acting up it may be a hardware problem
jadyn
How do i go about formatting? When i say yest to format, it writes or something and then the same error comes up. Am i doing something wrong?
ROMBUSTERS
hmm no...try holding down the NAVI/MENU button until a menu comes up. Go to Edit > Format and see if that makes a difference, or try formatting it through SonicStage
The_Stamp
i was having the same kind of symptoms. i brought it in, and 3 weeks later in the shop, i got it back saying "nothing wrong with unit"great.well, i opened the shutter to my hi-md and it was full of DUST. my attempts to clean the surface are failing because the clean surface picks up dust from WITHIN the cartridge. any ideas on how to resolve this?! grr.edit: fixed a not so funny typo. Damage
I'd say try a can of compressed air. If that doesn't work, you can try cleaning it like a CD (wiping out). Barring that, you got a bum, dirty disc.
The_Stamp
i'll try the compressed air. The wiping doesnt work as i can only clean one section at a time, and it just picks the dirt right back up within the disk i wish there was a safe, easy way to open these babies up.
