File Format Not Supported

So, this is a bit odd, and i can't seem to figure it out. I've got an album of mp3s, the new green day album, and i can transfer the song "Holiday" which is a .mp3, but i can't transfer "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" which is also a .mp3. They both have the same stats in winamp, 256 and 44, and they are the same format, but sonicstage converts and transfers holiday, and on Boulevard says "unsupported file format".

Any ideas?

What MP3 codecs do you have installed on your system?

Places to look:

In the windows device manager, under "sound, video and game controllers", in "Audio codecs", the 2nd tab contains a list of installed ACM codecs.

Also, check to see if you have FFDshow installed. Older versions are known to cause problems with SS, and newer versions are known to cause problems if you use one of the two decoders included with it [mp3lib; libmad works properly].

Also:

What version of SS?

What version of Windows / servicepack level?

What was the source of the MP3s in question [what encoder was used?]

After my previous problem i cleaned most of em out so now for codecs ive got...

Microsoft PCM Converter

Ogg Vorbis Audio CODEC

Lame ACM MP3 CODEC v3.96

AC3 ACM Decompressor

I don't have FFDshow anymore, cuz i had so many problems before, but its gone now.

SS= newest, soo ummm 2.3?

Win Xp Home SP2

Don't know what encoder was used, but somehow like i said, i can convert/transfer 1 song just fine, but the other one says invalid format.

Just in case.....i have the MZ-N420D

I have this problem too once in a while!

My solution was Winamp and the disk writer function for decoding music to wave files. Those files were imported in SonicStage and coded in Atrac3+ 256 onto Hi-MD.
