Clocker
Does anyone know of a site that ships these internationally (Australia)? I have been looking frantically, but can't find one.

Clocker
Thanks for the plug, but I was looking to import it from somewhere that has a little more competitive prices.I mean the US price seems to be $199, which equates to $Aus248, I doubt minidisc.com.au will offer it for less than $AUS499. Even if you get caught with import duty it still works out far better to buy from overseas. Also, a valid 12 month warranty does not workout to paying double for the product. atrain
try www.bluetin.com when they get them in. most of their stock is very well priced for the australian importer.
Christopher
I'll also throw my hat in the ring towards Minidisco.com and Audiocubes.com.All of these e-tailers mentioned in this thread are the most ideal choices.
atrain
the postage for those two is not as pleasant from an australian perspective kurisu & minidisc.com.au is hampered by using australian delivered stock on the whole, so they can only discount on australian rrp. Clocker
minidisc.com.au is hampered by using australian delivered stock on the whole, so they can only discount on australian rrp.I don't really the care what their story is, if it means I'm paying more for an identical product, well I won't have any of that thank-you. atrain
^ charming aren't you? don't really enjoy interaction? that's why i recommended another site.be aware that imported electronics are often not covered by australian sony service centres so postage back to place of purchase can be a future cost to factor into purchase price. i have purchase around au$500 from bluetin have found the service to be excellent, even special ordering stock in for me at no additional charge. on the website they mention they will liase for you to local or japanese service centres where required. Clocker
If I was here to charm them I'd be a hooker. Business is business, they are only there to make a profit out of you, why should I be nice and give them a free ride? I can get a bit firey if I feel like I am getting screwed. And a measely 12 month warranty isn't really worth paying double for the unit. What are the chances of anything going wrong in the first 12 months? It's the same with mobile phones they all seem to get problems around the 18 month mark anyway. Some sites offer international insurance and the postage costs are insignificant when compared to the savings.
