ironman2632
I am having issues with transferring tracks to my Net MD MZ-N420D. I have tracks on my hard drive that I ripped from my CD's. I can transfer MP3 files to my MD walkman but when I try to transfer the ripped files, I get an error message that says "Unable to convert copyright protected content." What kind of crap is this? I am new to the forum and I tried searching for help but didn't find any. Could someone help me out? Thanks.
Christopher
Hi, and welcome to the forums.Simple - they are copyright protected content. Try ripping the music to the computer first via another program and then importing it into Sonicstage.

I was importing the files from my folder to Sonicstage library. So what else am I suppose to do?
A440
WMP is probably adding some kind of DRM flag. Start again with a different ripping program, like dbpoweramp ( www.dbpoweramp.com ) or foobar2000 . http://www.foobar2000.org/You can also re-rip the files you have, but that will lower the sound quality. SimonMackay
Hi all! When you rip with Windows Media Player, it is set by default to "rip" to WMA-DRM files. I would recommend that you rip without DRM enabled. It is because most network audio players don't work with WMA-DRM files; and you can end up with limitations when transcoding for systems like SonicStage. This is achieved by going to "Tools->Options". Click the "Rip" tab and clear the "Copy protect music" option. You may have to re-rip your music so you can exposie it to WMP and be able to import it in SS. This might be a good chance to rip at 192kbps so you can get quality equivalent to a classic-format SP-encoded MD (which is close to CD quality). With regards,Simon Mackay
Syrius
Pardon me if I sound snobbish, but why use a product that is known to give you problems, when there are better and safer alternatives out there? Give JetAudio, Musicmatch, or even Winamp a go.
dex Otaku
You ripped these from the CDs to begin with, right? Why not skip the added generation of lossy compression and rip them right in SS, or better yet, transfer them straight from the CD to your netMD using Simple Burner? The remaining transfer count is zero." I'm about to sell this useless piece of junk.
