MDGB2
I was just about to reformat one of my old LP2 albums (recorded with a Hi-Fi CD player & Sharp MD-MT88H via optical input), but on the NH700 is sounds pretty darn good as it is.Obviously reformatting the disc to Hi-MD would allow additional capacity, but I'm just wondering if the quality of Sonicstage 3.0 would be as good (or better) than old school LP2 recorded optically. jadeclaw
To my ears, SonicStage from V2.3 onwards sounds better than my NH700 at LP2.However, the difference is small, so you have to decide, if it is worth the effort to rerip our CDs.And since Sharp was doing its own Atrac thing, the result could be different for you. bug80
The "new" LP2 in SS 3.0 sounds a bit better than with older versions, although the improvements are small (see this topic). I have to test version 3.1 yet.
