Hi,

I just received my NH900 today. I can't wait to use it and will initially be using a battery, because....I need a UK --> US plug adaptor for the 3Volt power supply that came with it. I have an old Sony 3V power supply but it says

Output: DC 3V 500mA

and the one that came with my NH900 says

Output: DC 3V 1A

I read somewhere on these forums that it wasn't advised to use the old supply with my new MD. So, my question is...where can I buy a plug adaptor so I can use the new power supply? I'm in the U.S. in case it wasn't obvious.

Thanks very much.

Kim

Welcome to the forum; and sorry for the delayed response.

Instead of a UK-->US plug adaptor (since you would still need to get a 240-->100V transformer to properly convert the voltage), I think you should just go for a 100-240V AC Adaptor.

You could easily obtain the 100-240V AC adaptor from a SonyStyle store (if there is one near your location), BestBuy or RadioShack. These stores will likely carry the Sony AC-E30A Worldwide 3V AC Adaptor; and it should cost about $19.99 to $24.99. If you can’t locate the Sony AC-E30A Worldwide 3V AC Adaptor, RadioShack should have a generic alternative.

Isn't the 900 supplied with a worldwide adaptor?

I would check first before splashing out more money than you need to.

Check what the input voltage range is on your new charger.

Certainly most kit I buy in the UK usually has 100-250 volts input range. I'd be surprised if your 900 charger wasn't the same.
