Vinny
First things first.Hello.Nice place you got here and I hope it wiil be of some use to me if I get my problem sorted.I bought a NW-HD1 the other day but cant get the software to recognize it.I installed the software and followed all the instructions in the manual. The computer picked up the new hardware and installed it but when I went into SS it said that there was no device connected.I then went to my computer and all i got was a blank screen and then my pc froze all programmes.I took the player out of the cradle and everything came back to normal.I put the player back into the cradle and got the same problems again.I've tried re-installing and downloading SS 3.2 and updating drivers but nothing seems to work.I also brought it back to the store where we installed it and it worked fine.I would appreciate any help you guys can give me. Vinny
I have all the requirements for SS,but i have no idea if my comp is multi booting.I bought the pc from a company here (Mycom) who build their own brand of pc's.Also it's a european model.ThanksVinny
Guest Stuge
Firstly:Multibooting means using two windows on the same computer. But now come to the point .As i also faced the same problem 5 months back with sonic stage not able to detect my cd-writable drive when i purchased d-ne900 therefore i will ask u to keep patience and follow the following instructions:(1) Try to install sonic stage 3.0 from cd(only cd)don`t install the software that u got in the box.( disconnect ur nw-hd1 when installing software) .then check again whether ur able detect nw-hd1 in ur sonic stage software.(2).Update ur USB drivers(depending upon the motherboard ur using). If intel motherboard download drivers from"www.intel.com" otherwise download driver from ur motherboard manufacturer site.(3) Then download sonic stage ver3.3(with drivers)from ..(http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/common/asp/details.asp?m=pad&l=en).Try to follow these instruction & tell me whether ur able to solve ur problem or not.Pl note:Whenever sonic stage is not able to detect ur drive or any network walkman. It only happens when ur computer is incompatible with sonicstage software regardless whether ur system meets requirement or not or cd u bought from ur vendor has some missing files. veezhun
mutli booting has no issues with sonic stage.. i multi boot with linux. and since windows cannot see linux partitions, it does not know if linux is present.. so SS works just fine..the whole issue about branded pc's and self assembled pc's is also pretty useless. i have built my own pc and own a thinkpad.. SS works just fine on both..uninstall all versions of Sonicstage using this linkhttp://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071finally, re-install the latest SS versioncheeers
Vinny
Deleted everything including what the link from Veezhun said.Drivers are up to date and windows up to date.Downloaded SS3 and installed it.Placed the player in the cradle and my heart sank as the computer froze as usual. Somebody suggested to me that it might be a power problem. Edited November 3, 2005 by Vinny
Christopher
What service pack do you have for XP? Go to start, run and type in "winver" and it should say there.
