well i own nh700 for like over a week, everything works perfect (but its my first MD in life so..), recorded one show so far that came out just good even though i used pretty crappy mic.

i have like no prob with this unit but just found out i can get the RH910 for extra 26 euro, if ill be super quick and get it today. Im googlin like crazy but cant find many tapers recording experiences with RH910 so can someone assure me im doing a right thing?

im interested esp in the recording quality. is it any better? it cant be worse, right?

i suppose the only main pros are that RH910 comes with a gumstick battery, has 5 line display and is thinner. I dont like much the NH700's look and its buttons but RH910 still has no HD amp or LCD on remote or backlight or dedicated menu button that would make life easier.

so would it be a good step to do this upgrade or step to nowhere?

id love to hear anyones thoughts.

There will be NO differences in the Hi-MD bitrate recordings: Hi-LP, Hi-SP and PCM. You will not be able to record the old "standard" or "NetMD" bitrates on the RH910. There is no taper history because these just came out last month. I have the RH10 and it records very well and I should have a RH910 by the end of business today. There really is no difference between the two so far as a recorder. I also had the NH900 for about 9 months and I can attest that there is no noticeable difference between the Hi-MD recordings of the NH900 and the RH10.

I would keep the NH700 and buy the 40ELK remote if I were you. But, the RH910 does have the AA battery option and a larger display. The differences are really ergonomics and power supply, not the recording quality...but, then again, having your power die in the middle of a recording has a lot to do with quality... happy.gif

Hi, I'm from the Czech Rep. My girlfriend has just lost her R909, so looking in the biggest classified ad newspaper online, I see 15 people selling their old portable MD recorders/players, which quite surprises me on the positive side.

But I'd suppose MDs are popular everywhere in the world - between journalists and other people who need to record stuff on an interchangeable media... smile.gif

as stated above, you can find old MD's in online auctions and stuff, but i wouldnt really say they are popular here, definitely not like mp3 players etc, but its gettin better...its always almost impossible to find a MD recording of local concerts but we have our little group who trying to change it happy.gif
