Problem With Live Recording

Did another live recording last night.. about my 30th, so I have a routine down. I formatted the disc, plugged in the mic and battery box, tapped the mic to be sure it was working, then tucked it away while I enjoyed a Toby Lightman show. But, this morning, when I plugged in the MD to pull the show off... it's in 161 pieces? 70 mins worth of show. My only guess is that the MD maybe was trying to be nice and do track splits for me?

Beats me.. but it's total mess and if this is a 'feature' that I turned on by accident, I'd appreciate any tips to turn that off. And, by chance, is there a way to have SS reassemble it into a single file?

thanks in advance.

Recording through Line-In, as you probably are with the battery box, creates track marks when the level goes too low for 2 seconds or more. No one has figured out how to turn off this "feature," though it's possible--barely--that going through Rec Set to Time Mark and setting it to 60 mins. may override it on some models (giving you one mark at 60 mins instead).

SonicStage can supposedly combine tracks in the computer after they have been uploaded AND after they have been deleted from the disc. I trust SonicStage for nothing, so I would suggest instead removing the tracks by hand on the unit.

Play, put it in pause, and use the pointing stick (>) to go forward. When you see Mark 002, etc., push the track button to remove the track mark. It should only take you a few minutes.

Since SS 3.0 you do NOT have to first delete the tracks off the Hi-MD before doing any combine or divide. Is the original poster using Hi-MD or MD? If it's MD, then you gotta do it the manual way regardless.

I'm on Hi-MD. I was able to recombine them -- but the recording was so quiet it's useless. Which leaves me wondering if my battery box battery was dead. Wish the thing had an LED or some indication. But, that explains the extreme number of splits.

Thanks everyone.
