hello,

It's my first post so sorry if I'm making mistakes with the rules.

Here's my problem:

I've upgraded to SS 3.1 from 2.3 and when I want to transfer/upload self recorded wav tracks from my device(MZ-NH1) I get this question from SS

" Tracks that do not exist in My Library are selected / Do you want to delete the specified tracks from the device?"

I'm confused - I want to upload/transfer tracks from my Device to My Library without deleting them from the Device. The option "leave tracks in the disc" is checked.

What am I doing wrong?

thanks a lot

welcome to these forums (MDCF),

have you already uploaded these (same) tracks before? Sony (and SS) allow uploading only once... if so, try connecting your player and playing the recordings through SS and capturing/recording it with Totalrecorder or (free) Audacity, as described here under "dex's OPTIONS FOR PARANOID USERS" which could aptly be called "they way to saved botched SS uploads" too.

If you haven't... record something else (disposable) on another disc and see whether you can upload those...

and just to make sure ppl who want to help know the complete situation: please post your specifications as stated in the rulesrules...

thanks and good luck

thanks for your reply,

yes I've uploaded this tracks before using SStage 2.3. But with SS2.3 it didn't automaticaly erased the uploaded tracks. They were still there after upload.

This happend only after I upgraded to version 3.1

But now I'm in even deeper trouble. Because of that I've restored my computer to an earlier date and now SStage does NOT work at all! I've tried to reinstall it - even tried to reinstall my older version from the CD that came with my MZ NH1 which had the the old 2.0 version. Also tried to install the 3.1 version.

It doesn't work - when I try to open ss on my computer it loads - says upoading components, loading player, loading My Library, Initialization Completed - AND THEN goes black. I only have a black screen and nothing happens. It's still says SS cersion 2.3.

what should I do? and help deeply apreciated

lucian

HP w/Pentium 4 at 2.4 Ghz with HT

First thing to do (if you haven't done this already) is to do a CLEAN install of the latest version of SS as described here... this could cure the "no SS working any more"-problem

About the recordings: as you know, in SS3.1 there is an option to keep uploaded tracks on the disc... go to: tools -> options -> transfer -> (device/media) Hi-MD -> transfer settings -> advanced -> import settings: check the "leave the track on disc"-checkbox. Make sure you have checked this, as it should prevent tracks disappearing from the discs in the future...

As for the recording you can't upload for the moment... the only way is recording them analog (or digital if your soundcard allows it) in realtime...

hope this helps and good luck
