I am looking for a LCD remote for my new shiny MZ-RH10 and have a chance to get the 2 below and wonder if either one will work with this unit.

The first one is the "RM-MC40ELK", apparently what I have read this one will work but not all that well. If someone will enlighten me on just how well it works and if it is worth the extra investment I would be much obliged.

The second one is the "RM-MC11EL" and I have no idea if this one will work but I know omeone out their can help me.

Thanks all for your help.

Hi,

I have the RM-MC11EL remote for my mz-r900.

According to BobS in my "questions for rh10 users" thread, it will work with the rh10.

Which is good but means i won't get as much for my r900 if i sell it without the remote and buy an rh10... blink.gif

The RH10 does not use the 3 lines on the MC40ELK remote.  You get just as much info from a single line remote

Plus, you can't get the backlight to stay lit, like you can with the NH900 and 40ELK combo. You have to move a dial or the volume control to get the light back on for a few seconds, etc. Menus are very limited when using the RH10 and 40ELK combo, I speak from experience.

I have to say that this is not the whole truth ... as you can see in the attachment a patched european RH10 just works well with the 3 lines of the remote ..

I agree, you do get all 3 lines of info. My biggest problem was the backlight staying lit (I rarely stealth and I want to see those recording levels at all times, not just when I need to take a peak) and I couldn't access all the menus.

I would have kept my 40ELK but I thought I would get more on Ebay if I sold my Nh900 with the 40ELK. Considering I only got $212 for the combo, I should have kept the 40ELK...you live and learn. It would have been a nice addition to my new RH910. I would consider it a must for the RH910 even if you can't get the light to stay lit at all times...
