oceans777
I've installed the Sonicstage 3.1 Full Installer on several laptops for use with my MZ-NH1 and never could Sonic Stage 3.1 to detect HiMD. Uninstalling Full Installer and installing the Sony SS 3.1 does not fix the problem. The only solution was to remove Sonic Stage, OpenMG, all Personal Audio drivers and all related keys from the registry and XP, reinstall using Sonic Stage 2.3 and upgrade to 3.1.A real mess because all three laptops are Sony Vaios and use OpenMG and shared SonicStage .DLL's for numerous other apps - also had to be wiped and reinstalled. I think posting a warning under the Full Installer that there is an issue with HiMD detection would be very helpful - tried it on a desktop non-Sony machine with no OMG or SS at work and had same issue. On all of the machines Sonicstage 3.1 Full Installer also attempts to download Windows Media audio codecs which were already installed - installation fails with an error instructing to install the codec package manually. I did so again, same error and failure again. The only way I could past it was to create the folder "Downloads" on the desktop and manually place the codec installer in that folder. The Low Volta
welcome to the forums...and yes, you are right all the troubles you mention have been noted before and have been reported to the creator of the standalone installer... but next time, perhaps search through these forums a bit, as then you would have noticed a lot of threads already discussing the problems with the installer (it is still beta, you know) and wouldn't have created yet another thread mentioning the same all over again...so two lessons...ocean: next time look around a bit before you create a new threadand mods: put up a (bigger) warning @ the standalone installer that it is still beta and that several problems have been reported
Christopher
Must've been a problem with a variable on the computers, I have successfully installed this installer on three seperate PC's with no issues. If people do continue to have problems we will look into some sort of solution however. We prefer to keep the installer as light as possible.. zyzy
I have successfully installed this installer on three seperate PC's with no issues. If people do continue to have problems we will look into some sort of solution however. We prefer to keep the installer as light as possible..←So I am reporting same problems with this installer - regarding Windows Media Codecs as well as with Hi-MD detection. I have solved the first problem by creating the downloads folder as well, and the second - by installing the German version of Sonic Stage 3.0, and then Sonic Stage 3.1 full installer, as had been suggested in another thread. It was a quite frustrating and time-consuming process. If the installer is to do its job some corrections are needed. I have successfully installed this installer on three seperate PC's with no issues.←Where they equiped with XP?I am a Windows 2000Pro/WMP 9 user and some other people reporting same problems where using this system too. Maybe the problem is hidden somewhere here?...Just a small hint . Thanks for this very useful forum.
