Changing Sampling Hz Output (word Clock)

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to use my Hi-MD to output into a multitrack recorder with the optical digital out. my yamaha AW16G recorder says there is a "word clock error", meaning that the recorder doesn't think the output sampling frequency of the MD is 44.1 kHz. Apparently the output frequency has to be 44.1kHz for my recorder to read it. My question is this: is there a way to check, or change, the output sampling frequency of my Hi-MD?

any advice would be awesome, thank you.

as far as I know, Hi-MD recorders only have optical IN, not optical OUT
