Sound channels

After finally getting my player working (long story) I was amazed by the sound quality but one thing is annoying me.

When I'm listening the sound coming from the right earpiece should be coming from the left and vica-versa (if ya get my drift).For years I've been listening to songs one way and now all of a sudden Atrac has changed this around.Is there a way I can change this ?,and no I wont change my headphones around.

It seems that funny things happening with u .I don`t understand why this is happening .Hope ur wearing the earphones the right way.If this problem presists then consult sony service centre for more help(as there may be some problem with the unit).

It's not a really serious problem,but more an annoying one.The way I always see it is like your looking at a stage.The guy playing guitar on the righthand side should have his sound coming out the the righthand speakers and the guy on the left comes out of the lefthand speakers.

Well this is how it should be but with my player it is reversed,the guy on the right has his sound coming out of the left etc.

Like I said it's not a serious problem,just a bit annoying and was wondering if it could be hacked in test mode ?

Except for the "Format " & "power"(menu given in the test mode) u can test ur self in the "Test mode".

But warning : Backup all ur data before doing that .& Note every thing in paper whenever u made changes in test menu(like where u have made change) b`coz somtimes absurd things happen .so that u can reset it again

Note:I have tested each & every listed things in test menu but i didn`t find any thing such like that.But u can still try

Most of the files I have a problem with are ripped from original CD's.

Have u tried to solve ur problem by tweaking in the "Test Mode".

There may be some problem with "OMG" files ,as u have problem with rippied music only.Do that problem occur when u use mp3s?

I will also test "viseversa" problem today ...

It hasn't happened with all of them.I would say it happens with about 75% of them regardless of their format.

Vinny, have you ever considered that you were listening to the wrong channels all along? Maybe the problem is not with Atrac files of your DAP but with your speakers' placement. maybe you've hooked left for right and vice versa... Just an idea.

Lol, he may have a good point - such as your speakers backwards to start with.

anwyays, I know a lot of the higher production software can do the reversing of sound channels, but I can't think of anything cheap (never used it)

Already had Soundforge installed but never used it too much.To be honest I found it a bit too complicated my simple mind ,but thanks to using other software I'm getting the hang of it and I think I can use it.I'll let you know what happens.

Stuge there's a bit of a difference between that post and talking about warez. If i believe correctly that thread was about where to find SP2 for XP and the guy happened to have an illegal copy. Here, however, you're directing people to a place to get an illegal copy.... a bit of a difference atleast in my mind.
