Question About Rh10's Recording Capability

-why tha hell can the RH10 not record analog in to a standard Minidisc,

that was how I was planning to make recording's for my car stereo.

Now I'm stuck with Fake SP for that ugh.

-what is the HMDHifi folder for and what happen's if I delete it?

Without using a computer, the RH10 can only record in Hi-MD mode, so you have to use Hi-MD formatted minidiscs in order to make analog recordings.

I just thought there where only restriction's on digital transfer and you could do pretty much anything you wanted in analog.

Not being able to record the line out from my mixing desk straigt to Standard minidisc is a drawback for me.I can work around it by recording in hi-sp or pcm and then burning to cd and then go downstair's,pop it in my stereo and record it to Standard MD in sp mode but hey that's 3 times the amoun't of work I was planning on.I'm totally fine with using the RH10 on it's own but I wanted to make recording's straight from my mixer for playback on various MD player's. Ah well I'll have to learn to live with it.

Fake SP via Sonic Stage will sound good enough for your car, since road noise should obliterate any difference in fidelity. So record, upload, and check out to fake SP.

You could also try to find a 1st-generation Hi-MD to record SP, but then you won't be able to upload the recording.

Don't mess with the HMDHiFi folder. That's got My Library, encryption settings and whatever other mumbo-jumbo Sonic Stage needs.
