I tried the advice from some other members, setting the mode in Sonicstage to SP, and it actually played on my MD car player. thx guys.

But the only thing is the disc sometimes played other times it displayed "BLANK". Straight after I tried a old disc and that played fine.

Just wondering if the problem has something to do with lens, the player is about 5 yrs old and hasnt been cleaned.

Is it worth buying a MD cleaner to see if this is the issue?

Cheers>>

A lens cleaner may well help, Nick, although the general advice is not to use these unless absolutely necessary (ie. nothing works). I've also found that some disks wont work consistently in older non MDLP players, or they dont like them, giving this kind of erratic behaviour.

This can be down to the brand of disk (I'd steer clear of the really cheap ones with plastic shutters) or even the length - 60 and 74 minutes MDs are usually fine in older players, but 80 minutes ones can be problematic, especially if filled right up with music.
