Mds Out There Still With Inputs

I have had a MZ-R50 MD for the longest time, but a bad spill it recently took has left the mic input a total mess.

I use my MD as a backup for all recording sessions, and occasionally as the primary recording device, used simply with a Sony instrumental mic.

I am seeing that virtually all of the new MD's out there don't even HAVE any inputs at all. This is disheartening and very irritating, as I went to five big stores tonight and none of them had anything except for the new devices out now.

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR: A top-quality Sony MD recorder that has the following:

- mic input

- line in

- line out

USB capability would be great, but is not a must by any means. Price is NOT an issue - as long as it's good, I will pay for it. Anyone have any suggestions? Feel free to e-mail me at trausen@aol.com.

I would appreciate any help you can lend....thanks!

Tim

You could use the equipment browser at minidisc.org...

the models that would allow USB-uploading of recordings (only Hi-MD) that immediately spring to mind are the 1st gen Hi-MD NH900 and NH1

the 2nd gen (RH) and the lower priced models of the 1st gen (NH700-800) haven't got a line out I think, but that isn't that big a problem...

don't get a D model (NH600D or RH710D) as they are download only and havent got a line in (or mic in)

just read the browser and these forums a bit... if you still have concrete questions, ask them and ppl will try to help

greetings, Volta
