Long Recordings Ss2.1-> 3.1 = Transfer Losses

My first post. I often make recordings in excess of 30 minutes in HiMD PCM mode with an early Nh-900. With Sonicstage 2.1->3.1, I'm getting *internal (system?) errors,* transfer and conversion stalls and even unreported omissions when transferring these larger (300mb+) files. Also, running a recording to the end of a hIMD disc (using autostop) seems to produce a much greater liklihood of the recording being untransferrable. I suspect some of the problems are tied to SS's 650 mb partitioning feature. Are others encountering problems with 300+ mb files? Can I assume they will be minimized if I use a faster platform than my 66Mhz laptop 32mb and windows 98se?! Thanks

Your computer is completely under the system specifications needed to run Sonicstage properly.

System Requirements

    * Computer: IBM PC/AT or compatible

          o CPU: Pentium® III 450MHz or higher

o Hard disk drive space: 400MB or more (the amount space will vary according to Windows version and the number of music files stored on the hard disk drive)

          o RAM: 128MB or more

o Display: High Color (16bit) or higher, 800 x 600 dots or better (1024 x 768 dots or better is recommended)

o Other: CD drive (capable of digital playback by WDM), Sound Board, USB ports (supports USB, previously called USB 1.1), Internet connection (for web registration, online music service access, and CDDB access), Windows Media Player (version 7.0 or higher for playing WMA files).

I suspected this. It would be great to know if anyone can confirm that SS 3.1 is transferring/handling long duration files reliably for them. I'm on mac so upgrading the PC would be primarily for transfers.

Hi,

I've got exactly the same problem. Tracks which are > 3 minutes does'nt transfer. I am new to minidisk, I bought a mz-rh910 to record in PCM (I have a DAT, but it's so huge and You can't tansfer the files digitally). I am really frustrated. My PC is new and is well beyond the requirements for Sonic.

Is there a way to get around the problem? Is there any other way to transfer the PCM files to PC (and convert) or preferrable to MacOSX?

I'm grateful for any help.

please read the rules for posting and post according to them (with full system specs and a very precise description of your problem) as this really is way to vague for anybody to help

greetings, Volta

PS: there is no way it will work on mac except with virual pc

Sorry,

I My PC:

Compaq nx7010, Processor: x86 Family 6 Model 9 Stepping 5 GenuineIntel ~1594 Mhz

768mb memory, WindowsXP Pro - servicepack 2, 10gb free on my HD.

My problem:

When I try to transfer PCM-files from my MZ-RH910 I get the message "Internal error". If the music is shorter than ca 2 minutes they transfer and convert to Wav - but longer doesn't. I have the same problem with both version 3.0 and version 3.1 of Sonicstage.

Is this a known problem?

Thankful for any help.
