Takes forever to update library

After transferring some tracks...it takes short of forever (like 5-10 minutes) for my VAIO Pocket to update the music library...which I think is overkill. I mean, can't they just append? Anwyays, I've got about 5000 songs, and add songs often...it just annoys me.

takes three minutes for me no matter how many tunes are added removed. indexing the files & assoc. pictures would be my guess.

i have the same problem and yeah very annoying to have to wait that long.
