I have now managed to get the connect player working very slowly on my computer but cannot get it past the splash screen on my sons computer. My question is how is it possible to use the connect player on my computer to transfer songs and delete them just from mine.I transfered song to one of them and then tried to connect the second one but all i had was a screen on the right showing what was on the first one with no way of transfering to the second one.

hope that not to much info and that you can make sense of it.

Interesting - my daughter wants a A1000 & we only have one computer so I may have same problem.

Does this still happen if you close and re-open Connect Player between disconnecting one and connecting to other? I notice that when you disconnect the player, the songs on the right appear in very light type then when you have restarted Connect, they are not there at all (I dont think?)

Hi, just to let you know I have just downloaded 10 gig to my NW-A3000 (delivered 16/10/05) using connect software with no problems what so ever and did not take that long to achieve. I must admit I like the A3000, both in looks and usability.

Still use my SonicStage 3.3 for my Hi-Md, and have no problems with this software either, have used all versions of SonicStage and every version released has been an improvement.

Remember Connect is only just released (yet to see any new software being 100%) so there is room for improvement.

Hope Sony UK manages to release the accessories for A3000 soon, have ordered the charging cradle a few weeks ago thru Amazon, but still to see a cover for the A3000 in Amazon.

For your startup problem I recommend looking at my post over there. It may help you out.

I think if I understand your question correctly, you want to delete anything you've sent to the Walkman and not delete the stuff in your PC. If that's true then you are golden, as the player already works this way. However, in "sync" mode, deleting something from the PC will delete that same something from the Walkman.

Does that explain it?

I think what he means (and I checked on mine last night) is that once tou have disconnected the Walkman from the computer and even restarted the computer and Connect Player - if you then click on the NWA3000 (or 1000) on left hand side (with the Walkman still disconnected) it still shows all tracks on the Walkman in faint writing.

The problem here seems to be that it displays what you had on one Walkman but if you have two it will not recognise the other one.

If you select the faint track and edit/remove it doesnt remove it from view but says "ready to delete" so next time you connect the Walkman, it deletes the track from it.

The issue is not trying to delete it from the computer but how to make the Connect player forget what is on the first Walkman when disconnected and recognise the 2nd one.

Any ideas?

I think I understand. On the PC I saw, there are 2 different devices that appear in the upper left hand window with the same name. Both are independent from each other, and I can put content on either one without the other getting it.

Perhaps you just need to name the device so you know which one you are working on? If you right mouse click on the device name and choose rename, it lets you call it whatever you want. That way, when you plug in each device, you'll know exactly which one you are working with.

Seems to work this way for me, anyway.
