i'm trying to import my music into sonicstage but i always getting tis messege saying : "cannot find files of the specified format" although the files are .mp3 that  i've succeeded importing before.

I'm having the same problem with specific mp3 files that I didn't rip (they're large 192 DJ mixes). Foobar recognises them and the br, and even after adding file info. I either get a 0% imported box that just sits there or else a nameless track is added that can be played in SS but can't be transcoded.

Any ideas?

TIA.

How large is large? Maybe SS has a size limit.

You could try cutting the files and reassembling them. Even a basic sound editor like Audacity (see the Downlads tab) allows you to cut exactly to the frame so that you can reattach files later without any gaps--look in the View menu.

You might also try re-encoding them in case whoever ripped them in the first place did something unconventional.

Thanks for the advice.

Large is <300mgs. SS didn't really like them but after some weird attempts it finally got them in there and let me edit them (with a crash of course!). So I quickly shoved them onto a MD before anything could go wrong!

Oh the joys biggrin.gif
