How to change ID tags on the NW-A1000?

Hey,

does anyone know how to edit song id tags (artist and song name) without having to delete the track from the player and then edit the tags and putting the track back onto the player?

If I understand you correctly, you just have to edit the tags in connect - then the next time you sync your A1000 with connect it will update automatically.

I have tried that but it diidnt work. Il have to ask sony about this then.

I also faced this problem with old HDD models also.

When A1000 is conncted to your computer then you can edit tags via connect(using properties in atrac audio devices) I think so.PL tell me whether this works or not

Wait a second, so let me get this straight, unlike in SS, where you could edit the name of the files on the player directly using the program, you can't do that with the Connect player? Surely this is major f up by sony.

This would be a huge downside if it can't be donw this way.

nope that didnt work for me. I have two tracks by the same artist, but one of the artist names has a . in it. so I removed the dot in the properties and disconnected the a1000 but no changes were made even though on in connect it said transfering after i edited the tags.

this could be a possible error with the player, or perhaps firmware on it? not sure, is this problem occuring much? if so maybe reinitialize the player again, unless you don' want to lose all the music, call sony and tell them your problem, perhaps they have heard of this before.

U can also restore to Factory settings first then reinitialize the player.If the first thing works up then don`t do second one..........
