Computer Crashes Using Ss2.0

Yesterday right out of the blue I got a brand new error from my SS2.0. Lucky me :/

I was happily transferring songs to my NetMD. The first batch worked just fine. But when i decided to add a few more songs SS got crazy and completely freezed. A few seconds later the whole computer shut down, rebooted and told me a serious error had occured. Since then I can't transfer anything.

Since I'm persistent I tried again, then again with a new disc, then tried reinstalling SS 2.0 but everything results in complete failure, automatic reboot and serious error-message.

I've got Win XP +service pack 2 and all the latest updates.

Any suggestions as to what to try next is appreciated. For instance do I dare upgrade to SS3.1 or will that only mess my computer up even further?

I would most certainly upgrade to SS3.1...even if you'd get things working...

just do a clean uninstall as described here but remember that this will render your library useless (but then again, it is useless now as well) and download the correct version of 3.1 from here

perhaps someone knows of a way to save your library, but I don't

greetings, Volta
