1kyle
This while needing some further work looks promising for people who've got time to hack around with computers.http://tuxmobil.org/player_linux_survey_sony.htmlparticularly the section on NOTMD .Cheers-K
Bananatree
NotMD isn't NetMD for linux is it?I'm trying to read up on it, but it is confusing here..... whatever Let's see some OSX programs!
The Low Volta
I'm not so computer savvy... but isn't this just a program that manages realtime recording of oldschool (SP) MD's and allows the computer to transfer tags...Recording an MD with NotMD can take up to around 80 minutesstrangely enough exactly the time an SP'ed old MD can hold at max... so I really think it just "plays" the tracks and transfers the tagscorrect me if I'm wrong, but I do not see the potential of this pogram...Volta
Bananatree
Can you think of many more other ways to transfer tags from PC to MD?PClink, NetMD, that thing that used the paralell port on your computer, and some other homebrew titling programs. NotMD just may be pretty slick compared to some other homebrews.
The Low Volta
I guessed 1kyle posted this here cause he saw a potential in the NotMD-codes for hackers to develop non-SS up-n-download-software for Hi-MD or something. I just wanted to point out that as far as I understand it, NotMD doesn't use any "access" to an MD, it just records realtime so it will not offer any further insights to ppl trying to break through the SS-monopolythe tagging bit sure is nifty for ppl still using old-school MD, but I really don't see the potential for anyone else (including hackers)Volta
