Is This A "decent" Mic?

I am on a very limited budget being a broke ass musician (trumpet player)

I just want to use my MD to record practice sessions and occasional live concerts (orchestras and solo recitals)

I know this is a very cheap mic, but the specs look decent. I was reading through some other posts and the specs look alot like the panasonic sepcs posted by a440.

Yes i ripped your name a440, but figured since so many people play/orchestras play at 442 it would be more approporate. tongue.gif

since no one has posted yet. I would have to say yes it is for sure a decent mic if the specs are correct. It might not have the widest stereo spread but would be a great mic to start with. For louder concerts you might want to use a battery box.

Peace

Scott

and p.s i think the A442 is quite clever

Is there a way to make a battery box? I know it is like 9v right? so is there a way to use a 9v battery and make one?

if i am not mistaken, that looks very close the free mic i got with my aiwa cassette recorder.. if that is what it is, its a decent mic for concerts and practice sessions.. once the levels of the concert start getting too loud, this mic has problems.. never tried or have the battery box option yet..

I should have copyrighted all frequencies.

It's not the mic that comes with a cassette, it's some homemade mic. I have one, and it's a decent mic, though the case transmits a lot of handling noise, so it's best to place it somewhere and not touch it while recording.
