thedonutman Posted July 12, 2005 Report Share Posted July 12, 2005 i had a few red hot chilli pepper albums on a minidisc that i burned about a year ago with openMG. but 3 winXp reinstalls later i can put them back onto my pc. i desperatly want these songs since ive broken one of the original CDs. i know that Sony(brr.....) have copy protection stuff but is there a way to get around this and get my songs?thanks,please help me Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Unfortunatley that would be the only way to get a usable file back on your system. Use Audacity (its free) to record the wave from your line out/headphone out to your line in on your sound card. You are going to need a 1/8th inch stereo plug cable.←Audacity eh? ive got that already. will i be able to get the same quality sound as my minidisc through a crapty line in socket on my motherboard(no seperate card its intergrated ). also will i need to manually control trackbreaks or is there a function to just do it for lazy people like me? Since they are old school recordings I am assuming they are SP? SP recording do not turn out bad when transferred to PC this way. Use a good shielded cable so you do not get stray hum from the cable. I have been doing it for a while with good results. Track breaks are another story. I think there are some programs like Roxio that will allow you to do track marks after the fact but I have never used them. I just record one song at a time.
